Womanikin

Problem: Women experiencing cardiac arrest are 27% less likely than men to receive bystander CPR. How do you close this deadly gender gap in CPR with zero paid media dollars?

Insight: CPR dummies are totally flat-chested, which leaves people unprepared to perform CPR on women.

Idea: We created The Womanikin, a universal attachment to give flat-chested CPR manikins breasts. This innovation earned a blaze of global publicity and is now in use by 52 CPR education organizations, including The American Heart Association.


LAUNCH VIDEO:

Conceived by JOAN's creative collective, and supported by the United State of Women, this new product is designed as an attachment for current CPR manikins, with the intention of getting trainees accustomed to the female body and driving equality in cardiac intervention. The WoManikin was inspired by a study led by Dr. Audrey L.
